What is Banbɔfoɔ?
Banbɔfoɔ means “the guardians” in Twi. It is a free app that lets you report safety issues in your community and follow them until they are resolved.
Does it replace 112, 191, 192 or 193?
No. In an emergency, call the emergency numbers first: 112, Police 191, Fire 192, Ambulance 193. Use Banbɔfoɔ to report and follow up on incidents.
Is the app free?
Yes. Downloading and reporting are free. It is lightweight and designed for weak connections.
Can I report anonymously?
Yes. Your identity is not shown to the public. You only need a Mobile Money number if you want to receive a reward.
Who receives my report?
The relevant service: the Ghana Police Service, fire service, NADMO, district assemblies or another agency, depending on the incident and location.
How do rewards work?
If the authorities verify and confirm your information, you earn points that convert to cash on MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash or AT Money. Rewards are open to adult Ghanaian citizens and are not guaranteed.
How do I track my report?
Open the app to see each step, from receipt to resolution. You also get notifications when something changes.
Which languages are available?
English, Twi, Ga, Ewe, Hausa and Dagbani, plus voice guidance.
How is my data protected?
Data is encrypted in transit and access is limited by role. See our privacy policy for details.
